Advice for Aspiring Agripreneurs
Growing up in Makueni County, Faith experienced first-hand the devastating impact of post-harvest losses. Every harvest season, farmers worked tirelessly only to lose significant portions of their produce before it could reach the market. Rather than accepting this as the norm, she saw an opportunity to create change.
Driven by a passion for agriculture and innovation, Faith pursued a Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Fisheries, equipping herself with the technical knowledge needed to develop practical solutions for farmers. She co-founded **Iviani Farm**, a social enterprise dedicated to reducing food loss, promoting climate-smart agriculture, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities across East Africa.
What started with addressing post-harvest losses has grown into an integrated agribusiness that combines mango value addition with climate-smart aquaculture. Through innovative fish farming systems that recycle water and use sensor technology to monitor water quality and fish health, Iviani Farm is helping farmers increase productivity while adapting to climate change.
Today, the enterprise has expanded its impact beyond Kenya, supporting farmers across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Iviani Farm has helped thousands of smallholder farmers improve productivity and incomes, trained tens of thousands of people in agribusiness and climate-smart farming practices, and developed value-added agricultural products that reach both local and international markets.
