Philipo Fahamuel Mrutu is an agribusiness development specialist, entrepreneur, and youth leader with over 10 years of experience advancing sustainable agriculture, agribusiness innovation, and youth empowerment across Africa. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Mrutu Agro-Solutions Company Limited, where he leads initiatives that strengthen agricultural value chains, improve farmers' productivity, promote climate-smart agriculture, and expand financial inclusion for smallholder farmers through innovative solutions, including AgriSave. He also leads the Smart Agripreneurship Innovation Centre (SAIC), which equips young people and women with agribusiness, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills. Philipo serves as a Board Member of the Agricultural Council of Tanzania (ACT), representing youth, and is the Founder of the National Youth Agripreneurs Business Summit and the Young Agripreneurs Network (YAN) Tanzania, platforms that connect young agripreneurs with mentorship, finance, markets, innovation, and strategic partnerships. His leadership has earned national and international recognition. In 2026, Mrutu Agro-Solutions Company Limited was named Overall Winner (SMEs) at the Business SDG Awards for advancing SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). He also led the company to win Africa Agribusiness Company of the Year 2024, served as a World Bank Group Youth Summit Delegate (2026), and is a Certified Climate Resilient SME Professional through the International Trade Centre (ITC). As a mentor, Philipo supports young entrepreneurs in agribusiness development, climate-smart agriculture, leadership, innovation, value chain development, and enterprise growth. Founder of the National Youth Agripreneurs Business Summit 2026 and the Young Agripreneurs Network (YAN) Tanzania, creating national platforms that connect young agripreneurs with mentorship, finance, markets, innovation, and strategic partnerships. Supported and mentored more than 50 agribusiness SMEs through business diagnostics, investment readiness, climate-smart agriculture, and enterprise development under the YEFFA–AGRA Project. Reached and empowered more than 50,000 farmers, youth, and women through agribusiness training, mentorship, business development services, and climate-smart agriculture initiatives across Tanzania. Led the development of AgriSave, a digital agrifintech platform promoting financial inclusion and improving access to agricultural inputs and services for smallholder farmers, alongside the Smart Agripreneurship Innovation Centre (SAIC), which equips young people and women with practical agribusiness and entrepreneurship skills. Represented Tanzania in high-level international forums and programs across China, South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, and other African countries, fostering partnerships and promoting youth-led agribusiness development.
