About This Event
Agrifood systems are a critical driver of economic growth, employment, food security, and livelihoods across East and Southern Africa. This regional webinar will explore how young people can leverage opportunities in cross-border agrifood trade through regional integration frameworks, including the East African Community (EAC), Southern African Development Community (SADC), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Participants will learn about market access opportunities, simplified trade regimes, trade facilitation mechanisms, digital innovations, regional value chains, and strategies for overcoming barriers such as non-tariff barriers, customs procedures, SPS requirements, financing, and market linkages.
The webinar is jointly convened by AGRA, EAC, SADC, and SAYoF and is intended for youth aged 15–35 years, entrepreneurs, traders, policymakers, development partners, business support organizations, and all stakeholders interested in strengthening youth participation in regional agrifood trade.
