East Africa agritech youth ecosystem alliance Uganda Chapter Lead

Prossy Among Eyabu is the EAAYEA Uganda Chapter Lead and Founder & CEO of Boresha Mavuno Agritech, working to advance youth-led agritech, climate-smart agriculture and farmer-centred digital solutions in Uganda. She is actively involved in youth engagement, agrifood policy and regional agricultural innovation.

Nakalema Assumpta

Yase-Uganda

Nakalema Assumpta is a Ugandan agritech entrepreneur and Founder of Hatchrite Co. Ltd, developing technology-enabled solutions for poultry farmers. Her work focuses on practical agricultural innovation, supporting farmers and creating opportunities for youth in agrifood systems. She serves as a YASE Uganda moderator alongside Prossy Among Eyabu.

Stella Massawe Clara

Policy and State Capability Senior Specialist for Eastern and Southern Africa – AGRA

Stella is a dedicated, creative, agile, and dependable international development professional with experience in i) Programme Management, including design, implementation and monitoring, and evaluation of agriculture and food security strategies and programmes; ii) Technical assistance and advisory to various government ministries as well as regional and continental institutions; iv) Public Policy design and implementation; v) Institutional capacity strengthening at individual, institutional and systems levels. Her extensive knowledge and experience of working at the continental, regional, and national levels cut across 20 African countries in both Anglophone and Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa. She has provided technical assistance to the African Union, AUDA-NEPAD, the East African Community (EAC), the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the Southern African Development Cooperation (SADC), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). She has demonstrated exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills in a variety of work settings, including public, development, and research organisations. She has designed and led the implementation of various youth empowerment interventions across the Eastern and Southern Africa region. She is highly experienced in grant design, grant implementation, and grant reporting.

Kimathi Githachuri

EAC Youth in Agribusiness Advisor –EAC Secretariat

Kimathi Githachuri, Youth in Agribusiness Advisor, East African Community (EAC) Secretariat Kimathi is an international consultant and senior program leader with over 18 years of experience spanning Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. He currently serves as the Youth in Agribusiness Advisor at the EAC Secretariat, where he leads regional coordination on youth agrifood systems, policy domestication and harmonization, and digital platforms, including the YASE Youth in Agribusiness Portal. His expertise also spans digital transformation and financial inclusion, market systems development, and monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, and adaptation (MERLA).

Stephen Kayongo

Statistician/CAADP Focal Person – Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF)

Stephen Kayongo is a Statistician and CAADP Focal Person at Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), contributing to agricultural planning, data and policy processes. His role provides an important national perspective on Uganda’s engagement with CAADP and regional agrifood systems transformation.

Elizabeth Gakinya

Executive Director – East Africa Agritech Youth Ecosystem Alliance (EAAYEA)

Elizabeth Gakinya is a youth policy advocate, agritech entrepreneur and Founder & CEO of Trident Analitics, a climate-tech company using IoT and AI to support smallholder aquaculture farmers. She serves as Youth Advocacy & Policy Engagement Lead for the World Food Forum (WFF) Kenya and is the Founder & Executive Director of the East Africa Agritech Youth Ecosystem Alliance (EAAYEA), advancing youth participation, digital innovation and climate-resilient agrifood systems across East Africa.

Elizabeth Kabakoyo

World Food Forum (WFF) Uganda Chapter Lead

Elizabeth Kabakoyo is an ambitious and passionate youth in agriculture and leadership governance. A founder of Glowish Agro solutions Ltd where she innovated Eco Organic Fertilizer ( organically Certified) used by Farmers to improve yields and mitigates climate change. She is the World Food Forum Uganda Lead that transforms youth actionable activities. Her impact transcends the boundaries of my immediate profession ommitted to personal growth, empowerment of wowem and encouragement of youth involvement in agriculture has earned me numerous accolades and opportunities to advocate for these causes on various platforms like presenting a youth statement on behalf of the World Food Forum global chapters at the closing ceremony of the World Food Forum 2023 Flagship event in Rome Italy, Among my notable achievements, Elizabeth continues to inspire and uplift those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the agricultural landscape of Uganda and beyond.
