About This Opportunity

The Seeding The Future Global Food System Challenge is a global innovation competition supporting breakthrough solutions that transform food systems to become more sustainable, nutritious, equitable, and climate resilient.

Hosted by Welthungerhilfe and funded by the Seeding The Future Foundation, the challenge supports innovators, startups, social enterprises, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams developing scalable solutions in agriculture, aquaculture, food technology, climate-smart systems, nutrition, food safety, and regenerative agriculture.

The programme particularly prioritizes innovations addressing food system challenges in the Global South. Awards range from Seed Grants to Grand Prize funding for scalable food systems innovations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must propose an innovative food systems solution
  • Must demonstrate scalability and measurable impact
  • Must address sustainability, nutrition, or climate resilience
  • Startups, social enterprises, researchers, NGOs, and multidisciplinary teams are eligible
  • Must support transformation of food systems in developing regions
