About This Opportunity
Rio Changemakers 2026 is inviting locally led climate and nature projects to join its first global cohort and gain visibility to potential investors, funds and financing partners.
Developed by the Government of Luxembourg and the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), Rio Changemakers is a science-guided, AI-enabled global marketplace designed to connect credible local climate and nature solutions with financing and investment opportunities.
The initiative is particularly relevant for projects working in Africa, Asia and Latin America, including locally led organisations, women-led organisations, Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous-led organisations, local communities and youth-led organisations.
Eligible projects may work across areas including:
- Biodiversity conservation
- Ecosystem restoration
- Regenerative agriculture
- Forests and land restoration
- Freshwater
- Seascapes
- Blue carbon
- Climate and nature solutions
Selected projects will gain visibility within the Rio Changemakers marketplace, communicate their financing needs and potentially connect with investors, funds and other financing partners. The first cohort will also help shape how the marketplace works for locally led projects.
