About This Opportunity
The timbuktoo Launchpad for GreenTech Startups is a pan-African venture-building and incubation programme under UNDP's timbuktoo GreenTech Hub in Kenya.
The programme supports technology-driven startups developing solutions for Africa's green transition and climate resilience. Selected startups receive structured incubation, mentorship, investment-readiness support, pitch development, climate finance preparation, ecosystem networking and opportunities to connect with investors and acceleration programmes.
Eligible solutions may address climate action, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, climate adaptation and resilience, water and resource efficiency, waste management and circular economy, green mobility, carbon markets and sustainable manufacturing.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with startups admitted through quarterly cohorts.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be an Africa-based startup or building a solution targeting African markets
- Must have a prototype or Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
- Must have a committed founding team
- Must address a clearly defined green or climate-related challenge
- Must demonstrate potential for growth and scalability
- Solution should fall within areas such as climate action, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, climate adaptation, water and resource efficiency, circular economy, waste management, green mobility or related GreenTech sectors
- Women-led startups, youth entrepreneurs and founders working in underserved or rural communities are particularly encouraged to apply
