CAADP Strategy and Action Plan (2026–2035)
Description
The CAADP Strategy and Action Plan (2026–2035) is the African Union's implementation framework for delivering the commitments of the CAADP Kampala Declaration. Developed under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), the Strategy provides a continental roadmap for transforming Africa's agrifood systems over the next decade through coordinated action by African Union Member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), development partners, the private sector, farmers' organisations, civil society, women, and youth.
The Strategy outlines the priorities, strategic objectives, implementation pathways, financing mechanisms, monitoring framework, and institutional arrangements required to achieve resilient, inclusive, sustainable, and competitive agrifood systems across Africa. It promotes increased agricultural productivity, food and nutrition security, climate adaptation and resilience, sustainable natural resource management, digital transformation, innovation, regional trade integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), investment mobilisation, youth and women's economic empowerment, and stronger governance and accountability.
Serving as the operational roadmap for the Kampala Declaration, the Strategy guides countries in aligning national agricultural investment plans with continental priorities while strengthening regional cooperation and accelerating progress towards Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
