Fund for Innovation in Development (FID) – Open Call for Innovative Projects

About This Opportunity

The Fund for Innovation in Development (FID) is a global funding mechanism hosted by the French Development Agency (AFD) and chaired by Nobel Prize-winning economist Esther Duflo. FID supports innovative solutions that reduce poverty and inequality in low- and middle-income countries through a staged funding model that helps organizations prototype, pilot, rigorously evaluate, and scale impactful innovations.

Unlike traditional grant programmes, FID finances projects at different levels of maturity. Organizations can apply directly to the funding stage that best matches the readiness of their innovation. The programme is open to projects across all sectors—including agriculture, food systems, climate resilience, health, education, governance, financial inclusion, and digital innovation—provided they demonstrate strong potential for measurable impact and long-term scalability.

The call for proposals is open throughout the year, allowing organizations to submit applications at any time.

| ----------------- | ---------------------: |
| Preparation | Up to **€50,000** |
